| As a kindergarten
teacher Sue Venn holds a strong conviction that the Arts are pivotal
to a child's education.
Inspired by the work of American Educator Aline
Wolf, who used art postcards as 'child-sized masterpieces', Sue
wrote the story of Roy & Matilda incorporating some
of her favourite paintings from the Australian Collection at the
National Gallery of Victoria, in Melbourne.
After introducing the story to her Kindergarten
children, their amazing responses and enthusiasm led to visits
to the Gallery to see the actual paintings, as well as the development
of a fuller Art Appreciation Program for the very young. |
